This Saturday was a productive and enjoyable class session. Rabbi Weill discussed the Torah portion for the week: Tetzevah. Ruthie helped lead this week’s service with some of the older kids. Stav and Leah had Aliyot. I am noticing more enthusiasm and Ruach during Shabbat services, which is always welcomed!
Following the service, we had an enjoyable Oneg. We started off with the Kiddish and Motzee and then discussed our highs and lows of the week, during Roses and Thorns. I like to take this time to talk to the kids about what they are thankful for and transition into more discussion of this week’s Parsha.
After our Oneg and Torah talk, we played Jewish Jenga, acted
out Jewish Value Card Challenge scenarios, and Apples to Apples Jewish
Edition. The students wrapped up the session, joining the other classes
on the Bima for the end of the congregation’s Shabbat service.
