This Shabbat was a very productive class session. The students showed a lot of ruach in their davening. Some students are also showing more enthusiasm when it comes to leading the services with the older students. It is very encouraging.
Before the service, Rabbi Weill discussed the significance of this week’s parsha: Mishpatim (Exodus 21-24). This week, Ashley and Molly helped lead the service. Ashley, Molly, Stav, and Sarah all had Aliyot during the Torah Service. After the service, we had our Oneg Shabbat, where we discussed this week’s highs and lows. We discussed this week’s parsha a little more in depth and worked on reciting Shalom Alechem and V’Shmru with confidence. I was very impressed with the children’s progress on these Maariv prayers and encourage them to keep practicing at home.
The student’s concluded class by heading to the bima for the conclusion of the congregation’s Shabbat Service.
